TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology returns home to face Hanover College in men's basketball action on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Rose-Hulman has won three of its last four games to improve to 9-8 on the season and 6-4 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The Fightin' Engineers return home after a three-game road trip that included last week's 79-70 win at Earlham and a 68-60 win at Transylvania.
Hanover also has a 9-8 overall record and is one game behind first place in the HCAC standings at 7-3 in league play. The Panthers played in the longest conference game this season on Saturday, falling 106-100 in triple overtime to Anderson.
Rose-Hulman's starting lineup features four players averaging double figures in scoring. Matt Loesing leads the team at 12.6 points per game, followed by Dillon Reynolds at 11.0. Jimmy Miller (10.9 ppg) and Tyler Duffy (10.2 ppg) are also in double figures, and the fifth starter recently has been sophomore Stephen Schueth (7.5 ppg).
Rose-Hulman's bench has been bolstered by the recent return of freshman Charlie Aimone (9.9 ppg) and junior Collin Wojcik (9.8 ppg). Luke Callahan (7.5 ppg) and Wade Stallings (3.5 ppg) have also appeared in every game this season.
Hanover also has four starters averaging double figures in scoring, led by Michael Van Kleunen at 13.4 points per game. Wes McKinney (12.9 ppg), V.J. Billups (12.4 ppg) and Cam Fails (10.6 ppg) are also double figure scorers. The Panthers have won six of their last eight games, including road wins at Anderson and Bluffton.
After Wednesday's game, Rose-Hulman returns home to face Bluffton on Saturday. The doubleheader will feature a reversal of standard starting times, with the men playing at 1 p.m. and the women's 20th Anniversary Celebration Game slated for 3:30 p.m.
