DEFIANCE, Ohio -- The RHIT men's soccer team picked up a 2-1 win at Defiance College this afternoon.
The Fightin' Engineers got on the board first in the game on a goal from Austin Webb in the 23rd minute. It was his fifth goal of the season. Dieter Schultz recorded the assist on Webb goal. Rose-Hulman would lead 1-0 at halftime.
In the second half the Fightin' Engineers pushed their lead to 2-0 on a Turner Perkins goal in the 73rd minute. The goal was Perkins' fourth of the season.
Defiance managed to cut the deficit in half with a late goal in the 89th minute but RHIT held on for its fifth straight win.
With the victory Rose-Hulman improved to 9-5 overall and a perfect 5-0 in HCAC play.
Their next match will be on Wednesday October 19 against Mt. St. Joseph. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Engineer Intramural Field.
