TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology will honor two members of its volleyball program prior to their final home regular season weeknight match on Wednesday at Hulbert Arena.
Seniors Melinda Buckrop and Emily McLendon will be recognized prior to the 7 p.m. matchup against Anderson on Wednesday.
Buckrop has appeared in 51 matches and 88 sets at Rose-Hulman with 68 kills. In the classroom, Buckrop majors in chemical engineering. McLendon recently became Rose-Hulman's career leader in block assists with 271 and is third in school history with 348 total blocks. She has appeared in 108 matches and 384 sets at Rose-Hulman with 551 kills. McLendon is a biomedical engineering major.
Rose-Hulman enters the match with a 12-16 overall record and stands 4-3 in conference play. Anderson has a mark of 8-17 overall and is 2-6 in league play.
The Fightin' Engineers currently stand in a tie for fourth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings. Teams seeded three and four will play at home in the first round fo the HCAC Tournament on Nov. 2, while seeds five and six will compete on the road.
After Wednesday night's matchup, Rose-Hulman returns home to face Transylvania on Saturday at 3 p.m. The match will also serve as the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Fightin' Engineer volleyball.
