COMPLETE RESULTS
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's swimmers combined for seven top-three performances in a three-team meet featuring NCAA Division I Ball State and No. 21 ranked NCAA Division III Albion College on Friday night.
Ball State won the team scoring over Rose-Hulman 198-83 and over Albion 159.5-121.5. The Fightin' Engineers were competitive with No. 21 ranked Albion, falling 150-131 in the team scoring.
Senior Pierce Bartine recorded three individual top-three finishes to lead the team performance. Bartine won the 100-butterfly (51.60 seconds), placed second in the 50-freestyle (21.89) and was third in the 100-freestyle (48.58).
Junior Patrick King added a runner-up finish in the 200-butterfly with a mark of 2:00.08. The men's 200-freestyle relay squad of Bartine, Tyler Sariscsany, Cam Gill and Nate Weber also placed second in 1:27.86.
Sophomore Nicholas Jeronis tallied two third-place finishes for the Engineers, with mark of 1:50.36 in the 200-freestyle and 4:59.98 in the 500-freestyle. Gill added the final top-three finish with a 54.95 second performance in the 100-backstroke.
Rose-Hulman's women will travel to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, and the men return to action at home against Wabash next Saturday.
