SUNDAY COVERAGE vs. NORTH PARK: VIDEO | LIVE STATS

CHICAGO, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology held one of the nation's top offenses in check and relied on a balanced scoring attack to defeat North Central College 73-49 in women's college basketball action on Saturday afternoon.

Rose-Hulman faced a North Central team that led all of NCAA Division III in scoring last year and was averaging 99 points per game in two victories this season.  The previously unbeaten Cardinals were held to just 49 points and 25% from the field in the win.

Offensively, the Fightin' Engineers placed three players in double figures in the victory.  Sophomore Ally Bromenschenkel led all scorers with 23 points on 11-15 from the field with eight rebounds.  Sophomore Brianna Gliesmann added 12 points and seven rebounds, and senior Abbie Marshall also reached double figures with 10 points.

Other key contributors included senior Josie Schmidt with eight points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots.  Alyzia Dilworth and Abby Bromenschenkel also contributed six points each to the performance.  North Central was held without a player in double figures, as three players led the Cardinals with eight points each.

Rose-Hulman shot 46% from the field and jumped out to a 21-11 lead after the first quarter.  North Park kept the deficit at 35-25 at the half, before the Fightin' Engineers exploded with a 22-9 third quarter to secure the victory.

Rose-Hulman improved to 3-1 on the season and will face tournament host North Park University on Sunday at 2 p.m. Central Time.  North Central dropped to 2-1 on the campaign.
