BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan relied on a balanced scoring attack and a strong defensive performance to top Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 66-38 in women's college basketball action on Wednesday night.
Illinois Wesleyan held the Fightin' Engineers to 29% from the field to pick up its third win of the season. Molly McGraw led the Titans with 12 points and Maddie Merritt also reached double figures with 10 points for Illinois Wesleyan.
Sophomore Ally Bromenschenkel paced the Rose-Hulman offense with 11 points and seven rebounds. Junior Alyzia Dilworth added eight points and five rebounds.
Senior Josie Schmidt and sophomore Abby Bromenschenkel provided support to the Rose-Hulman offense with six points each.
Illinois Wesleyan improved to 3-3 after three losses to nationally ranked teams earlier this season. Rose-Hulman stands 4-2 on the campaign and travels to Mount St. Joseph on Saturday in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener.
