TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Millikin University shot 56% from the field in the second half to rally from a seven-point halftime deficit and top Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 71-66 on Monday night at Hulbert Arena.
Zach Fisher came off the bench to lead Millikin with 16 points. Leighton Lark added 15 points, with Korbin Farmer and Tyler Pygon scoring 12 points each.
Senior Collin Wojcik led the Rose-Hulman offense with 14 points and four assists. Sophomore Nick McGrail also reached double figures with 10 points.
The balanced scoring attack also included Eli Combs and John Czarnecki with nine points each; Charlie Aimone with eight points; and Stephen Schueth with seven points.
Rose-Hulman scored the final seven points of the first half to take a 31-24 lead at the break. In the second half, the two teams battled to the game's 13th tie at 56-56 on a layup by Wade Stallings with 6:32 left.
Millikin answered with an 8-2 run to gain a 64-58 lead, before a three-pointer by Schueth and a layup by Czarnecki brought Rose-Hulman within 64-63 with 2:02 left. Millikin pushed the lead back to five points at 70-65 with the biggest shot of the evening, a three-pointer by Lark, with 19 seconds left to secure the victory.
Rose-Hulman stands 4-4 on the season and returns to action at Illinois Tech on Thursday evening.
