TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology looks to extend a four-game winning streak during Wednesday's matchup at in-state rival Franklin College.
Rose-Hulman improved to 11-8 overall and 8-4 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 79-77 win over Bluffton University on Saturday. Five players reached double figures in scoring during Saturday's win, led by senior Tyler Duffy with 20 points.
Rose-Hulman enters the game tied for second in the HCAC standings, just two games behind conference leader Mount St. Joseph.
Duffy is one of four Rose-Hulman starters averaging double figures in scoring this season at 10.5 points per game. Senior Matt Loesing leads the team in scoring at 12.1 points per game, followed by Dillon Reynolds at 11.7. Senior Jimmy Miller (10.6 ppg) and sophomore Stephen Schueth (6.9 ppg) have rounded out the recent starting lineup.
Leading players off the bench have included freshman Charlie Aimone (10.7 ppg), freshman Luke Callahan (5.7 ppg), sophomore Wade Stallings (3.4 ppg), junior Collin Wojcik (7.0 ppg) and senior Mitch Williams (2.1 ppg).
Franklin stands 1-18 overall and 1-11 in HCAC play, but has had three overtime losses and two more losses by just one possession. Aaron Mann ranks No. 2 in the league in scoring at 21.5 points per game. Trae Washington adds 16.6 points per game, and two more players (Robbie Prather and John Beineke) average double figures in scoring.
After Wednesday's game, Rose-Hulman travels to HCAC leader Mount St. Joseph on Saturday at 2 p.m. The men's game will open Saturday's doubleheader, with the women playing at Mount St. Joseph at 4 p.m.
