Men's Basketball Heads to Anderson on Wednesday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology renews an in-state rivalry with a trip to Anderson University on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Fightin' Engineers stand 14-9 overall and 11-5 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action after earning a 77-75 win at Manchester University on Saturday.  Rose-Hulman clinched a bid to the six-team HCAC Tournament with Saturday's win.

Anderson has a 13-10 record and is 9-7 in conference play heading into Wednesday's matchup.  The Ravens currently stand fifth in the league standings, but have not clinched a tournament bid since they lead seventh place Manchester by just one game.

Rose-Hulman has offered a balanced scoring attack this season, led by Dillon Reynolds at 11.8 points per game.  The five players averaging double figures in scoring also include Matt Loesing (11.6 ppg), Jimmy Miller (10.5), Tyler Duffy (10.2) and Charlie Aimone (10.1).  Sophomore Stephen Schueth (6.5 ppg) has also been a member of the team's recent starting lineup.

Anderson also features four starters averaging in double figures, led by Trevor Lucas at 16.7 poings per game.  Cole Hartman (16.2 ppg), Stanley Duncan (15.5) and Nathaniel Acree (12.9) are also well into double figures. 

Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with Anderson 35-22, including 10-9 in HCAC play.  The Fightin' Engineers won the most recent series meeting 103-86 on Jan. 13 at Hulbert Arena.

After Saturday's game, Rose-Hulman returns home to face Defiance College in the Senior Day Game at 3 p.m. in the regular season finale  Seniors to be honored include Brian Decker, Duffy, Miller, Loesing, Reynolds and Mitch Williams.

The Fightin' Engineers will open the HCAC Tournament on Feb. 26, with a site, time and tournament bracket format to be determined after Saturday's games are completed.
