GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology earned a 9-0 shutout of Centre College to earn its first men's tennis victory of the 2016 season on Friday night at DePauw University.
Rose-Hulman swept all six singles matches and three doubles match to defeat a team perennially under consideration for NCAA Division III regional rankings.
Junior Brandon Benedict, sophomore Cam Metzger, junior Georges Adam, freshman Andre Adam, senior Matt Conrad and freshman Andrew Schiffman swept the singles matches.
In doubles play, Benedict teamed with Georges Adam at No. 1, Metzger and Andre Adam won at No. 2, and Conrad joined Joe Kendall for a win at the No. 3 position.
Rose-Hulman improved to 1-1 on the season and faces Wooster (1-1) on Saturday at noon in day two of the DePauw Invitational.
