TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team battled a top 50 NCAA Division II program at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center on Sunday before falling 8-1 to Southern Indiana.
Freshman Andre Adam led the Fightin' Engineers with a three-set win at the No. 4 singles position. Adam won the first set 7-5, fell 2-6 in the second set, then won a third-set tiebreaker 10-7.
Southern Indiana improved to 11-3 on the season with the victory, while Rose-Hulman stands 12-6 on the year. The Fightin' Engineers have lost twice to NCAA Division I foes, once to a Division II foe and twice to nationally ranked Division III foes with one of the nation's toughest schedules so far this spring.
