NEW ALBANY, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team competed in its tightest match of the season, narrowly falling 5-4 to NAIA foe Indiana University-Southeast on Thursday afternoon.
Juniors Brandon Benedict and Georges Adam led the performance by winning at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles position, after teaming up for a No. 1 doubles win. Senior Matt Conrad added Rose-Hulman's fourth point with a 6-3, 6-4 win at the No. 5 singles flight.
Rose-Hulman narrowly fell 9-8 in a tiebreaker at the No. 2 doubles position, and also dropped one three-set match in singles play.
Rose-Hulman stands 12-7 on the season, while IU-Southeast improved to 8-8. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Ohio Wesleyan University (7-7 so far this season) on Friday afternoon for an NCAA Division III matchup.
