TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology opens the 2016 volleyball season with a pair of matches at the Washington University Invitational on Friday night.

The Fightin' Engineers will square off with Webster University at 6 p.m. Central Time (7 p.m. Indiana Time) on Friday, before facing Adrian at 8 p.m. Central Time.

Rose-Hulman will continue a four-match weekend by facing DePauw (11:30 am CT) and Washington University (1:30 pm CT) on Saturday.

The squad was picked to finish sixth in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings this season, according to the league coaches poll.  Last season's 15-16 record was highlighted by a four-match winning streak to end the season that nearly vaulted the Engineers into postseason play.

After this weekend's action, Rose-Hulman will travel to the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on Sept. 9-10.
