TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology makes the short 33-mile trek to the DePauw University Volleyball Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The Fightin' Engineers open the weekend against Hanover on Friday at 6 p.m. in a match that will not count toward the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings. Rose-Hulman also faces Millikin University at 8 p.m. on Friday.
On Saturday, Rose-Hulman will square off with Hope College at 11 a.m. and faces Trine University at 1 p.m.
Rose-Hulman improved to 4-5 on the season with a three-set victory over St. Mary-of-the-Woods College on Wednesday at Hulbert Arena. Junior Becca Poppel leads the team with 68 kills and has 81 digs. Sophomore Bailey MacInnis (63) and freshman Adekite Oladipupo (55) also have more than 50 kills this season.
Junior Alison Rogozinski leads the assist performance with 171, and freshman Katie Orbeta has added 128. Junior Gabi Razma paces the squad with 163 digs, and Oladipupo has 107. Senior Emily McLendon has a team-high 30 blocks, and junior Mackenzie Gossard has added 20.
After this weekend's event at DePauw, Rose-Hulman returns to action on Wednesday at Manchester in the HCAC opener.
