TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology opens the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball season with a trip to Manchester University on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Rose-Hulman stands 6-7 on the season after finishing 3-2 overall last week. The Fightin' Engineers defeated St. Mary-of-the-Woods last Wednesday, before splitting four games at DePauw that included losses to two teams in the national top 25.
Sophomore Bailey MacInnis leads the Rose-Hulman with 102 kills, and Becca Poppel has added 89. Senior Emily McLendon paces the squad in blocks (46) and hitting percentage (.292).
Junior Alison Rogozinski has team-highs of 235 assists and 13 service aces, with freshman Katie Orbeta contributing 179 assists. Junior Gabi Razma leads the team with 239 digs, and Adekite Oladipupo has added 139 digs to the effort.
Manchester most recently defeated IU-Northwest in four sets to move to 7-4 on the season. Courtney Chowning leads the team in kills (134) and is second on the squad in aces (16), digs (102) and blocks (13).
After Wedmesday's matchup, Rose-Hulman hits the road for Millikin and two matches against College Conference of Illlinois and Wisconsin opponents on Saturday.
