Game Recap: Men's Track and Field |

Rose-Hulman, Indiana State Win T.H. Double Dual

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology won all 14 men's events and captured 10 women's event victories in a dominant performance against Manchester University at the Terre Haute Double Dual on Friday night at the Sports & Recreation Center. 

Rose-Hulman won the team scoring against Manchester by a 103-33 count on the men's side and 84-59 in women's competition. 

The meet also featured NCAA Division I Indiana State competing against Illinois State in a matchup of Missouri Valley Conference teams at one of the nation's top facilities.  Indiana State reclaimed the Coughlan/Malloy Cup for the 11th consecutive year with a combined team victory. 

Josh Himes led the Rose-Hulman men with two field event victories.  Himes had an impressive early season mark of 53' 1 3/4" in the weight throw and tossed the shot put 49' 8 1/4". 

Other men's field event winners included Kenton Hipsher and David Shumate tying in the high jump (5' 10 3/4"); Nick Palmer in the pole vault (14' 10"); and Brendan Smyth in the triple jump (41' 11 1/4"). 

In running events, seven different individuals captured top honors.  Running event winners included Josh Hennig in the 400 (51.06); Matt Hill in the 3,000 (8:55.12); Aaron Lannoy in the 800 (2:01.75); Brendon Mattiuz in the mile (4:32.41); Lucas Schulthies in the 60-hurdles (8.92); Isaiah Smith in the 200 (22.93); and Adam Wilson in the 60 (7.15). 

Rose-Hulman also won the 4-x-200 meter relay.  The team of Wilson, Smith, David Borden and Hennig won the 4-x-200 in a time of 1:32.65.  

On the women's side, Rose-Hulman won four field events and six running events.  Lauren London was a multiple-event winner, capturing the pole vault (10' 1 1/4") and long jump (17' 5 1/4").  Other field event winners included Gabi Razma in the triple jump (35' 0 1/4") and Jaclyn Setina in the high jump (5' 5 1/4"). 

One school record performance highlighted the women's winners, as Debie Gedeon set a new mark in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.51 seconds.  Other individual top honorees included Anne Boxeth in the 800 (2:32.85); Victoria Heckenlively in the 400 (1:05.00); and Kally Morozin in the mile (5:54.21). 

The Fightin' Engineer women also swept both relay events.  The team of London, Razma, Setina and Christine Harper claimed the 4-x-200 in a time of 1:50.92.  Harper, Razma, Kristin East and Heckenlively won the 4-x-400 in a mark of 4:19.80. 

Rose-Hulman returns to action at its own Friday Night Invitational next weekend at the Sports & Recreation Center.
