TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology swimmers and divers combined for nine first-place performances in a three-team meet featuring NCAA Division II Bellarmine and the NCAA Division I Indiana State University women's squad on Friday at the Sports and Recreation Center Natatorium.
Rose-Hulman earned a 177-117 dual meet victory over Bellarmine on the men's side. The women's squad was competitive in a 155-98 loss to overall meet winner Indiana State, and also scored 67 points in the Bellarmine dual.
Cam Gill led the Rose-Hulman swimming performance with two individual and two relay victories. Individually, Gill won the 100-freestyle in 47.93 seconds and the 100-backstroke in 53.46. Other swimming individual winners included Dutch Kipp in the men's 50-freestyle (21.91); and Ethan Park in the 200-breaststroke (2:10.55).
The 200-medley team of Gill, Park, Patrick King and Kipp took top honors with a time of 1:37.03. The 400-freestyle relay team of Kipp, Tyler Sariscsany, Sean Gish and Gill capped the meet with a 400-freestyle relay team with a mark of 3:13.40.
The diving performance included the night's top score in three of four events. Peter Venema led the effort with a sweep of the men's one-meter (234.80 points) and three-meter (204.05 points) events. Michaela Kivett added the evening's top performance in one-meter diving with 215.65 points.
The women's squad returns to action on Saturday at Illinois Wesleyan, while the men return to the pool Nov. 4 at Wabash College.
