CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. -- No. 20 ranked Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on eight event victories to defeat No. 16 ranked Wabash College 164-134 in men's swimming and diving action on Saturday afternoon.
Ethan Park led the Fightin' Engineers with three individual event wins. Park won the 100-breaststroke (59.97), 200-breaststroke (2:10.76) and 200-individual medley (2:00.59).
Peter Venema added to the point total with a sweep of the one-meter and three-meter diving events. Venema scored 245.40 points in one-meter diving and tallied 239.45 in three-meter.
Other event winners included Dutch Kipp in the 50-freestyle (22.10) and Austin Salisbury (2:00.82).
With the meet potentially hanging in the balance, the 400-freestyle relay proved the meet clinching win. The team of Kipp, Tyler Sariscsany, Sean Gish and Cam Gill won the key event in 3:10.81.
The two teams were both ranked in the CollegeSwimming.com national dual meet rankings that were released earlier this week. Rose-Hulman returns to action at home as the men and women host NCAA Division I Valparaiso on Friday at 6 p.m.
