Men's Basketball Scores 96 in Road Win at Boyce

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology buried 11 three-pointers and scored 53 points in the second half to pull away from Boyce College and pick up a 96-70 non-conference men's basketball victory on Monday night.

Junior Charlie Aimone led four Fightin' Engineers in double figures with 20 points and nine rebounds, including a 7-11 shooting performance.

Sophomore Ryuji Aoki added 17 points on a trio of three-pointers and 6-6 from the free throw line.  Sophomore John Czarnecki pitched in with 11 points and seven rebounds, and junior Nick McGrail was also in double figures with 10 points.

Freshman Craig McGee contributed nine points, six rebounds and six assists.  Michael Lake and Stephen Schueth also had six points each.

The Fightin' Engineers relied on 45% shooting from the field and a 44-32 rebounding advantage.  Rose-Hulman had 16 players earn time and 14 scored at least one point.

Adam Rabke led the Boyce offense with 22 points.  Leonidas Alexakos also had 19 points to provide support for the Bulldogs.

Boyce had a 22-10 lead early in the contest, but the Fightin' Engineers answered with a 19-4 run to take a 29-26 lead on a three-pointer by Aoki.  The lead reached 43-35 at the half, and Rose-Hulman pushed the lead to 17 points quickly at 53-36 with a 10-1 run out of the locker room.

Rose-Hulman stands 4-6 after its third consecutive win, while Boyce dropped to 0-12.  The Fightin' Engineers host Wabash College on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
