ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team clinched its first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference outright regular season championship with a 64-48 victory at Anderson University on Wednesday night.

Rose-Hulman improved to 21-3 overall and 16-1 in HCAC play with its 11th straight victory.  The Fightin' Engineers placed four players in double figures and will host the conference tournament at Hulbert Arena on Feb. 24-25.

Sophomore Ally Bromenschenkel scored a game-high 16 points on 8-12 from the field to lead the Rose-Hulman offense.  Senior Josie Schmidt finished 6-8 from the field with 14 points and six rebounds.

Sophomore Taylor Graham came off the bench with 11 points and four rebounds, and sophomore Ally Bromenschenkel also reached double figures with 10 points.

Rose-Hulman held its opponent under 50 points for the seventh consecutive game in the victory.  The Fightin' Engineer defense is ranked No. 4 nationally in scoring defense by allowing just 46 points per contest.

Rose-Hulman led 15-13 after one quarter and pushed its lead to 33-27 at the half.  The Ravens stayed within striking distance at 46-36 after the third quarter, but Rose-Hulman relied on a 19-point fourth quarter effort to secure the victory.
