TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology won its seventh consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship, while the women came up just four points shy of the title in a strong performance Saturday at the Sports and Recreation Center.

The men's squad scored 247.5 points to easily outdistance the competition and win its seventh consecutive league title. Hanover won the women's team scoring with 130 points, followed by Rose-Hulman at 126 and Manchester at 120 in the 10-team competition.

Rose-Hulman student-athletes combined for 11 conference championships on the day, including eight individual and three relay titles.

The winners were highlighted by two conference record performances that were also Rose-Hulman school records. Sophomore Lauren London won the women's long jump with a record setting mark of 17' 11". The men's 4-x-200 meter relay team of Adam Wilson, Isaiah Smith, David Borden and Josh Hennig added a second record breaking mark with a time of 1:30.35.

On the men's side, individual champions included Hennig in the 400 meters (49.94); Aaron Lannoy in the 800 meters (1:59.74); Matt Hill in the 5,000 meters (15:27.70); Brendan Smyth in the triple jump (43' 8"); and Josh Himes in the shot put (50' 11 1/2"). The 4-x-400 relay team of Smyth, Smith, Borden and Hennig capped the meet with a win in a time of 3:26.82.

Other individual women's winners included Jaclyn Setina in the high jump (5' 4 1/4"); Gabi Razma in the triple jump (36' 5 3/4"); and the 4-x-200 meter relay team of London, Razma, Victoria Heckenlively and Christine Harper with a mark of 1:49.75.

The performance included seven men's runner-up performances. Second-place finishers included Alton Anspaugh in the 5,000 meters (15:28.82); Hill in the 3,000 meters (9:04.82); Himes in the weight throw (52' 8 1/4"); Andrew Okruch in the shot put (50' 6 3/4"); Nick Palmer in the pole vault (15' 5"); David Shumate in the high jump (6' 2 3/4"); Smith in the 200 meters (22.61); and the distance medley relay team of Robert Myers, John Evans, Lannoy and Chandler Harkins in 10:51.12.

Women's second-place finishers included Camille Blaisdell in the 5,000 meters (18:55.85); Debie Gedeon in the 60-meter hurdles (9.44); the 4-x-400 meter relay team of Razma, Heckenlively, Kristin East and Harper (4:13.59); and the distance medley relay of Anne Boxeth, Megan Phillips, Abby Hawkins and Jessica Wells in 13:29.82.

Rose-Hulman's performance was led by a 1-2-3 finish in the men's 5,000-meter run. The women's championship came down to the final race before Hanover earned the narrow team victory.
