GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- DePauw University relied on four multiple-run innings to top Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 10-3 in college baseball action on Wednesday afternoon.
Prior to the game, schedule changes were announced for the upcoming three-game Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference series with Bluffton. The Fightin' Engineers and Bluffton will play a doubleheader on Friday at 3 p.m., with the single game taking place on Saturday and noon.
DePauw scored twice in the second, sixth and eighth innings, and tallied three runs in the fourth to improve to 20-5 on the season. The Tigers are receiving votes in both NCAA Division III National Top 25 baseball polls this week.
Offensively, Brian Thomas and Sean Casey led the Rose-Hulman offense with RBI doubles. Jacob Murray also had a double on the day, and Ryan Stachowski contributed a hit, run and RBI.
The DePauw offense was led by a home run among two hits from Zack Wade. Ryan Grippo also had three hits and scored three times from the leadoff spot.
Rose-Hulman will host Bluffton starting Friday afternoon at Art Nehf Field. The Fightin' Engineers enter the series tied for first place in the HCAC standings.
