TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team will usher in the 2017 season with a pair of road contests in Fulton, Missouri. The Fightin' Engineers will face off against Knox College on Friday September 1. Rose-Hulman will then play North Central on Saturday September 2.

* Rose-Hulman claimed the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season crown in 2016 after posting a 9-0-0 record in conference play.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished 14-6-0 in 2016.
* Rose-Hulman was picked second in the HCAC preseason coaches poll.
* Head Coach Sean Helliwell enters his 10th season at the helm of the men's soccer program; during his tenure he has guided RHIT to a 115-47-26 overall record (.681 winning percentage).
* Rose-Hulman is 65-5-9 (.880 winning percentage) against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponents under Coach Helliwell.
* Rose-Hulman returns the 2016 HCAC Offensive Player of the Year in Austin Webb. Webb netted 10 goals and picked up three assists last fall. For his career, Webb has scored 22 goals and has registered eight assists, good enough for 52 career points.
The Opposition: Knox College Prairie Fire
* Knox College posted an overall record of 13-4-2 in 2016, including a 7-0-2 mark in the Midwest Conference.
* The Prairie Fire were selected to finish second in the Midwest Conference preseason coaches poll.
* Returning all-conference performers include senior Phelipe Graske and junior Rocky Plaza.
The Opposition: North Central (Ill.) Cardinals
* North Central posted an overall record of 6-10-1 last fall, including a 3-5-0 record against College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) competition.
* The Cardinals were picked sixth in the CCIW preseason coaches poll.
* Last fall, North Central scored 21 goals as a team, good enough for a 1.24 goal-per game average.
