TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's tennis team picked up a 5-4 victory over Illinois Tech on Saturday afternoon at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
The Scarlett Hawks picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, but Rose-Hulman collected a point with a win at No. 3 doubles. The duo of Kayla Jarvis and Linde Schaffer teamed up for an 8-2 win over Allison Trang and Paulina Kulyastev.
The Fighitn' Engineers would secure wins at No. 3-No.6 singles. Naomi Bhagat won at No. 3 singles 6-4, 6-0. Fanny-Jane Banda won at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-4. Linde Schaffer won at No. 5 singles 7-5, 6-3. Lastly, Caroline Johnson won at the No. 6 single slot 6-1,6-3.
RHIT improved to 2-0 on the season. The Fightin' Engineers will be back in action tomorrow at Noon against Oakland City at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
