GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology fell to two top NCAA Division III programs that are a combined 23-2 this season on Saturday at the DePauw Invitational.
Muskingum (11-1) topped the Engineers 25-20, 25-11, 25-14 in the opener. Mackenzie Gossard led the offense with six kills. Katie Orbeta had a match-high 12 assists.
Sydney Griffith had the lone service ace for Rose-Hulman, while Gabi Razma (13) and Adekite Oladipupo (10) reached double figures in digs.
In the nightcap, Mount Union (12-1) earned a tight win over Rose-Hulman by a 25-19, 25-22, 25-22 count. Grace Beach led the team with 11 kills, and Orebta had seven with a team-high 19 assists. Alison Rogozinski added 15 assists.
Defensively, Razma recorded 18 digs and Orbeta pitched in with 10. Gossard and Beach had two block assists each.
Following the tournament, Razma was named to the DePauw Invitational all-tournament team for her efforts this weekend.
Rose-Hulman stands 8-5 on the season and hosts Greenville on Tuesday night at Hulbert Arena.
