GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- DePauw University scored the lone goal in the 79th minute to earn a 1-0 men's soccer victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday night.
Joe Scanlon found the back of the net on a double assist with 11:06 remaining in regulation time. The tightly contest featured six shots for Rose-Hulman, with three in each half.
Rose-Hulman had two chances in the final five minutes to equalize the score. PJ Renz recorded a shot with eight minutes left, before Turner Perkins had the final shot in the last two minutes.
DePauw improved to 3-2-1 with the victory, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 4-2-1. The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Saturday with a trip to perennial national power Ohio Northern.
