TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team travels to Defiance College for a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon. The Fightin' Engineers cap the HCAC schedule at Defiance at 1 p.m., then face Kenyon in a non-conference matchup at 3 p.m.

* Rose-Hulman can secure a first round bye in next week's HCAC Tournament with a win over Defiance on Saturday. The Fightin' Engineers are 6-2 in league play entering Saturday's match.
* Rose-Hulman would host the 2018 HCAC Tournament on Nov. 3-4 with a win over Defiance AND a loss by Transylvania to Manchester on Saturday.
* The Fightin' Engineers have had two players pass significant statistical milestones this season. Bailey MacInnis ranks 4th in school history in kills (1133) and Katie Orbeta stands 6th in assists (2018).
* With a win over Defiance, Rose-Hulman would tie a program record with seven wins in an HCAC season for the third time since joining the conference in 2006.
* Statstical category leaders this season include Bailey MacInnis in kills (267); Karie Orbeta in assists (776); Katryna Dahlberg in digs (535) and service aces (35); and Maria Bruner in blocks (85).
* Marissa Gollnick stands second on the team in kills (209), assists (184) and blocks (59).
DEFIANCE NEWS & NOTES:
* Defiance stands 4-18 and 2-6 in league play this season. The Yellow Jackets have HCAC wins over Earlham and Manchester.
* Delaney Monnin leads the Yellow Jackets with 179 kills. Morgan Porter has a team-high 491 digs and the team's two setters have been Jamie DeTro (360 assists) and Brianna Wheeler (320).

* Kenyon has a record of 14-10 overall and is 4-4 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.
* Delaney Swanson leads Kenyon with 342 kills, and Meghan Cason has 884 assists to lead the team's passing performance.
