LEXINGTON, Ky.-- The women's soccer team was defeated by Transylvania 2-1 on Saturday.  This drops the Engineers to 10-8 overall and 5-4 in the HCAC.  

Rose-Hulman was able to strike first in the 22nd minute after Jessica Wells was able to connect with Alyssa Taylor for the goal.  This goal would give the Engineers the lead 1-0 as the match went to halftime.  The match was very even offensively with Transylvania outshooting the Engineers 6-5 in the first half.

In the second half, it continued to be a competitive contest.  Transylvania was able to find the net in the 80th minute to tie the score 1-1.  This would be the score at the end of regulation as the match would be forced into overtime.  

After a scoreless first overtime period, Transylvania was able to get a goal on a penalty kick to win the match with a final score of 2-1.  

Goalie Katie Demert finished the match with two saves after four shots on goal.  This will wrap up the 2018 season for the Fightin' Engineers.
