TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason favorite Mount St. Joseph scored three goals in the second half to break open a close contest and pick up a 4-0 victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in women's soccer action on Wednesday night.
Kaylan Gruber led the Mount St. Joseph offense with a pair of goals. Katie Demert recorded six saves to lead the Rose-Hulman defensive effort.
Rose-Hulman fired seven shots in the contest, including five in the second half. Mariah Mufich hit the post with a shot in the 16th minute after Jessica Wells fired a shot in the eighth minute to pace the first half offense.
Mount St. Joseph improved to 9-1-2 overall and 2-0 in HCAC play, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 6-5-1 and 1-1 in league play. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Defiance College on Saturday afternoon.
