Volleyball to Face Transylvania for HCAC Championship Sunday at 1 PM

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team squares off with Transylvania for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament championship on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Transylvania.  The winner will advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

RHIT NEWS & NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman seeks its second trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament in Sunday's match.  The Fightin' Engineers previously qualified for the 2011 NCAA Division III Tournament before falling to eventual national champion Wittenberg.
* Rose-Hulman stands 18-12 this season under first-year head coach Rachel Sellari.  The season included a 7-2 record in conference play, with five of their 12 losses to nationally ranked teams.
* Rose-Hulman competes in the HCAC championship match for the second straight year.  RHIT is 1-1 all-time in HCAC Tournament title matches, winning in 2011 and falling in 2017.
* The Fightin' Engineers have had two players pass significant statistical milestones this season.  Bailey MacInnis ranks 4th in school history in kills (1172) and Katie Orbeta stands 6th in assists (2106).
* Statstical category leaders this season include Bailey MacInnis in kills (306); Katie Orbeta in assists (864); Katryna Dahlberg in digs (607) and service aces (43); and Maria Bruner in blocks (97).
* Marissa Gollnick stands second on the team in kills (240), assists (324) and blocks (68).  Grace Beach has also surpassed 200 kills this season (214).

TRANSYLVANIA NEWS & NOTES:
* Transylvania seeks its first trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament in Sunday's match.  The Pioneers also seek their first HCAC Tournament championship.
* Transylvania is also led by a first-year head coach, Amy Barmore.  The Pioneers are 15-10 overall with six of their losses to nationally ranked teams.
* Transylvania statistical leaders include Jordan Horne (302 kills) and Jennifer Buckman (209 kills) with over 200 kills; Hannah Talkers with 790 assists; Abby Wills with 399 digs; and Ellie Stigger with 67 blocks.
