Hot Shooting Leads Rose-Hulman Men's Basketball Past Boyce

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology shot 62% from the field and 65% from three-point range to pick up a 93-67 men's basketball home victory over Boyce College on Thursday night.

Four Fightin' Engineers reached double figures in scoring in the balanced attack.  Ryuji Aoki led the offense with 18 points, and Craig McGee added 16 points and a team-high five assists.  Eli Combs added 10 points on 3-4 from the floor, and David Saadatnezhadi poured in a career-high 10 points with a pair of three-pointers.

The balanced offense also featured Michael Lake, Samvit Ram and Trey Wurtz with seven points each.  Ram and Wurtz recorded career-high scoring totals in the performance.  John Czarnecki pitched in with five points on 2-3 from the field.

Boyce had three players in double figures, led by Bailey Benham with 14 points.

The Fightin' Engineers built a 16-point halftime lead at 50-34 by relying on 65% shooting from the field.  Rose-Hulman was also 6-7 from three-point range in the first half, hitting the nets at an 86% clip.

The second half featured more solid shooting and 13 players reaching the scoring column for Rose-Hulman.  Career-high point totals were achieved by Saadatnezhadi, Ram, Wurtz, Myon McGee (3 points) and Charlie Klein (2 points).

Rose-Hulman improved to 5-4 on the season, while Boyce dropped to 0-10.  The Fightin' Engineers travel to Manchester University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
