TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology extended its winning streak against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's tennis opponents to 32 straight with an 8-1 victory over Franklin College on Sunday afternoon at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
Rose-Hulman, three-time defending HCAC regular season and tournament champions, improved to 2-0 in league play this season with the win. In doubles play, Rose-Hulman relied on Cam Metzger and Andre Adam for an 8-2 win at the No. 1 flight. Ian Landwehr and Austin Perry combined for an 8-0 victory at the No. 2 flight.
In singles action, winners included Landwehr, Adam, Andrew Schiffman, Perry, Brendan Goldacker and Grant Stamper. Each match was won in straight sets.
Rose-Hulman improved to 6-6 overall and 6-1 against NCAA Division III opposition with Sunday's victory. The Fightin' Engineers return to action with home matches against Greenville and Illinois Tech next Saturday.
