GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Bailey MacInnis became the fifth Fightin' Engineer volleyball player to cross 1,000 career kills to highlight Wednesday's match at DePauw.
The host Tigers picked up a 25-17, 25-16, 25-14 victory. MacInnis reached the 1,000-kill club with a smash in the second set.
Morgan Stearley led the DePauw offense with 17 kills and Suzanne Peters added 10 for the Tigers. Grace Filburn had a team-best 36 assists.
Marissa Gollnick paced Rose-Hulman's offense with six kills and added nine digs. Katie Orbeta added 15 assists and seven digs, while Katryna Dahlberg recorded a team-high 15 digs. Gollnick also led the front row with two total blocks.
DePauw improved to 6-7 on the season, while Rose-Hulman stands 9-6. The Fightin' Engineers return to action against Texas Lutheran and Williams at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on Friday.
