TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer was able to pick up a shutout win against the Defiance Yellow Jackets with a final score of 6-0.  This improves the Engineers to 10-2 overall and 3-0 in the HCAC.  

The Engineers had an outstanding performance overall.  Rose-Hulman was able to score quickly in the fourth minute after an assist by AJ Yilmaz and George Bulger led to a goal by Takezo Kelly.  Andy June would add another goal for the Engineers in the 21st minute after an assist by Eric Kirby and Yilmaz.  

Kelly would get to the net for his second goal of the day in the 36th minute after an assist by Kirby to put the Engineers ahead 3-0 at the end of the first half.  Rose-Hulman led Defiance in shots 12-0 heading into halftime.  

Rose-Hulman continued to produce offensively in the second half.  Ryan Tarr was able to connect on a header in the 76th minute after an assist by Kirby.  Colin Featherby recorded his first goal of his career as an Engineer after an assist from Chris Fusaro in the 87th minute.  Matt Fix would get to the net as well after an assist from Wyatt McKibbon to seal the win for Rose-Hulman with a final score of 6-0.  

Goalie Pascal Schlee ended the match with two saves in the teams eighth shutout win of the season.  Rose-Hulman ended the match outshooting the Yellow Jackets 22-2.

The team will look ahead to continue their HCAC schedule on the road against Hanover College next Wednesday, 10/16 at 3:30 PM.
