TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology heads to Transylvania University for a showdown of the last two undefeated teams in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday at 2 pm.
RHIT NEWS & NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman has won seven consecutive matches to improve to 12-12 overall and 4-0 in HCAC play.
* Rose-Hulman has HCAC victories over Manchester, Franklin, Defiance and Anderson so far this fall.
* Katryna Dahlberg earned three consecutive HCAC Player of the Week Awards earlier this season.
* Dahlberg leads the HCAC with 6.40 digs per set and 570 total digs this season.
* Dahlberg is ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division III in total digs and No. 5 nationally in digs per set this season.
* Katie Orbeta ranks 3rd in school history with 2,665 assists.
* Elizabeth Canon leads the team with 240 kills. Riley Woodruff (178), Orbeta (151), and Maria Bruner (105) are also over the 100-kill mark.
* Orbeta has a team-high 506 assists, and Eryn Castaneda has added 334 assists. Both Castaneda and Orbeta have a team-high 43 service aces.
* Bruner leads the team with 67 blocks, and Woodruff has added 65.
* Rose-Hulman will look to defeat a nationally ranked team for the first time since 2017 in the match at Transylvania on Saturday.
MEET THE OPPOSITION:
* Transylvania stands 19-4 overall and 4-0 in HCAC play entering Saturday's matchup with Rose-Hulman.
* The Pioneers are ranked No. 21 nationally in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association weekly national poll.
* Transylvania has won five straight matches entering Saturday's contest.
* Transylvania has defeated two nationally ranked teams this season (Mary Hardin-Baylor and Colorado College)
* The Pioneers won the HCAC regular season title in 2018, before Rose-Hulman won the HCAC Tournament in Lexington as the No. 2 seed.
