Rose-Hulman Football Hosts Franklin in Homecoming Game Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Franklin College meet in the 2019 Fightin' Engineer Homecoming Game at Cook Stadium.

RHIT NEWS & NOTES:
* Three Rose-Hulman players have been named HCAC Players of the Week so far this season. 
* Garrett Wight is the reigning HCAC Offensive Player of the Week; Brett Tuttle is the reigning HCAC Special Teams Player of the Week; and Winston Amankwah was named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts during the shutout win at Rhodes.
* Wight surpassed 100 yards in both rushing (147) and receiving (104) with a career-high four touchdowns in last week's 52-35 win at Manchester.  Tuttle was a perfect 7-7 on extra points and hit a 27-yard field goal at Manchester. 
* Amankwah had the second-longest interception in Rose-Hulman history, a 97-yard return, in the Rhodes win.
* Noah Thomas had the second longest reception in Rose-Hulman history at Manchester last week.  Thomas scored on a 90-yard touchdown reception in the victory.
* Andrew Dion has moved into 4th place in school history in career touchdown passes (42) and stands 6th all-time in passing yards (4,463).
* Thomas is up to No. 6 in school history in career receptions (127), No. 10 in receiving yards (1,641) and No. 6 in receiving touchdowns (17).
* Jack Heyl leads the Fightin' Engineer defense in career sacks (10) and tackles-for-loss (16.5) entering Saturday's game.

FRANKLIN NOTES:
* Franklin has won or shared nine consecutive HCAC football championships.  The Grizzlies have a record of 69-4 in HCAC games since 2010.
* Franklin has reached the NCAA D-III Playoffs seven times in the last nine years.  Franklin has represented the HCAC in the NCAA Playoffs in every year this decade, except for 2016 (Rose-Hulman) and 2018 (Hanover).
* Jacob Earl has the most prolific career statistics on the current roster, with 2,128 yards rushing and 27 career touchdowns.
* Brayton Shannon leads the defense with 46 tackles and had a 75-yard fumble return for a touchdown last week.
