Volleyball Falls in Tight Road Battle at MSJ

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology gave Mount St. Joseph a tight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference road battle on Wednesday night before falling 25-21, 25-21, 29-27 to the host Lions.

Elizabeth Canon led the Fightin' Engineers with 11 kills, and Maria Bruner added nine kills.  Kayla Harding contributed eight kills to the effort.

Katie Orbeta had 22 assists and 13 digs, while Eryn Castaneda added 15 assists, 11 digs and both of the team's service aces.

Defensively, Katryna Dahlberg led Rose-Hulman with 32 digs.  Gabrielle Gilbertson also reached double figures with 11 digs.

Karlie Schell had 12 kills and Kara Bradley added 11 for Mount St. Joseph.  Sam Buschur led the team with 39 assists.

Mount St. Joseph improved to 13-10 and 2-4 in HCAC play, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 12-14 and 4-2 in league games.  The Fightin' Engineers host Hanover College on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the team's annual Cancer Research Game.
