Men's Soccer Conquers the Spartans in a Rainy Saturday Match

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers men's soccer team was able to come away with a win over the Manchester Spartans with a final score of 3-0.  This improves the Engineers to 13-3 overall and 6-1 in the HCAC.

The match proved to be a challenge for both teams as the weather became a factor early in the match moved to the turf field at Indiana State Memorial Stadium.  The rain led to a competitive match which held both teams scoreless in the first half.  Rose-Hulman was able to outshoot the Spartans 11-1 as the game headed to halftime.  

The Engineer came into the second half looking to take control of the match.  Takezo Kelly was able to connect with the net after an assist from Tyler Foster in the 56th minute to put the Engineers ahead.  Foster was able to get a goal of his own in the 67th minute after an assist from Brevin LacyWyatt McKibbon was able to seal the win for the Engineers with another goal on an assist from Eric Kirby to defeat the Spartans with a final of 3-0.

Rose-Hulman ended the game outshooting the Spartans 18-2.  Goalie Pascal Schlee was able to record one save as the Engineer's defense recorded their 11th shutout of the season.  

The team is caught in a three way tie for first place in the HCAC with Hanover and Transylvania after tonight's win.  

The Engineers will look ahead to host Anderson University on Wednesday, 10/30 at 7:30 PM.
