CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 draw in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer action on Wednesday night at Mount St. Joseph.
Mount St. Joseph relied on goals by Stefanie Autenrieb and Madeline Rechel to build a 2-0 lead five minutes into the second half.
Elle Ogden answered with a score on a pass from Lane Lawrence to bring the deficit down to 2-1 in the 54th minute. With eight minutes left in regulation, an own goal benefiting the Fightin' Engineers tied the score.
Rose-Hulman then relied on a strong defensive effort to earn the draw after two overtime periods.
Mount St. Joseph outshot Rose-Hulman 23-9 in the contest, but Katie Demert had a strong performance with eight saves to keep the Fightin' Engineers within striking distance.
Ogden paced the Rose-Hulman offense with two shots.
Rose-Hulman stands 6-4-1 overall and 1-0-1 in HCAC play, while Mount St. Joseph stands 5-4-2 and 1-0-1. The Fightin' Engineers return to action at home on Saturday against Defiance College.
