Second Half Rally Leads DePauw Past Rose-Hulman

GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- DePauw University relied on a hot shooting second half to rally from a halftime deficit and defeat Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology 66-61 in men's basketball action on Friday night.

Rose-Hulman held the Tigers to just 13 points in the first half, before DePauw found the shooting touch to rally from a double-figure deficit and pick up the victory.

Elijah Hales led three DePauw players in double figures with 17 points.  Nolan Ginther added 16 points, and Aaron Shank scored 11 for the Tigers.

Craig McGee paced the Fightin' Engineers with 19 points and seven rebounds.  Michael Lake also reached double figures with 10 points.  John Czarnecki came off the bench with nine points and seven rebounds.

The duo of Max Chaplin and Trey Wurtz added to the Rose-Hulman offense with five points each.

Rose-Hulman shot 43% from the field in the game and outrebounded DePauw 36-32, but the host Tigers hit a total of 13 three-pointers in the victory.

Rose-Hulman stands 1-1 on the season, while DePauw improved to 1-1 with the win.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Nov. 22-23 at the Carthage Invitational in Wisconsin.
