Men's Basketball Heads to Carthage Invitational Starting Friday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology travels to the Carthage Invitational for two games this weekend.

CARTHAGE INVITATIONAL:
Friday, Nov. 22
Rose-Hulman vs. Aurora, 5 pm CT
Carthage vs. Finlandia, 7 pm CT

Saturday, Nov. 23
Third-Place Game, 1 pm CT
Championship Game, 3 pm CT

Rose-Hulman (1-1, 0-0 HCAC) News & Notes:

  • Rose-Hulman stands 1-1 on the season after defeating Oakland City 98-90 and falling to DePauw 66-61.
  • Craig McGee leads the Fightin' Engineers in scoring (17.5 ppg), rebounds (7.0 rpg), assists (4.0 apg) and steals (1.5 spg).  McGee has career totals of 735 points, 295 rebounds and 288 assists at Rose-Hulman.
  • Trey Wurtz scored a career-high 20 points in the season opener, after scoring 30 points in his first two seasons at Rose-Hulman.
  • Craig McGee was named a D3News.com Preseason Honorable Mention All-American after averaging 12.7 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 4.9 apg last season.
  • Rose-Hulman finished 17-9 last season and has been picked to finish third in the HCAC this season, according to the preseason coaches poll.
  • Head coach Rusty Loyd enters contest with a career record of 81-54.  Loyd has led Rose-Hulman to one regular season conference title and two appearances in the HCAC Tournament Championship Game.

The Opponents

  • Aurora is 0-1 after falling 87-79 to Wisconsin-Eau Claire in its season opener on Nov. 14.  Bailey Vance led four players in double figures with 18 points.
  • Carthage is a perfect 3-0 this season, including a 64-57 win over No. 2 ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Nov. 19.  Jordon Kedrowski leads the team in scoring at 20.0 points per game.
  • Finlandia seeks its first win of the season after scoring a season-high 85 points at Wisconsin Lutheran on Tuesday.  Dylan Underwood leads the team in scoring at 20.6 points per contest.
