Men's Basketball to Face Unbeaten Carthage Today at 3 PM CT

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology faces unbeaten Carthage College in the championship game of the 2019 Carthage Invitational on Saturday at 3 pm CT.

Rose-Hulman (2-1, 0-0 HCAC) News & Notes:

  • Rose-Hulman stands 2-1 on the season with wins over Aurora and NCAA Division II Oakland City, along with a narrow five-point loss at DePauw.
  • Craig McGee leads the Fightin' Engineers in scoring (18.0 ppg), rebounds (7.7 rpg), assists (6.7 apg) and steals (1.0 spg).  McGee has career totals of 754 points, 304 rebounds and 300 assists at Rose-Hulman.
  • Zach Callahan scored a career-high 23 points and hit the game winning two free throws with five seconds left against Aurora, helping the Engineers earn an 84-83 victory.
  • Trey Wurtz scored a career-high 20 points in the season opener, after scoring 30 points in his first two seasons at Rose-Hulman.
  • Craig McGee was named a D3News.com Preseason Honorable Mention All-American after averaging 12.7 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 4.9 apg last season.
  • Rose-Hulman finished 17-9 last season and has been picked to finish third in the HCAC this season, according to the preseason coaches poll.
  • Head coach Rusty Loyd enters contest with a career record of 81-54.  Loyd has led Rose-Hulman to one regular season conference title and two appearances in the HCAC Tournament Championship Game.

  • Carthage is a perfect 4-0 this season, highlighted by a 64-57 win over No. 2 ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Tuesday.
  • Carthage has crossed 100 points in a game twice this season, in wins over Greenville (133-126) and Finlandia (122-64).
  • Jordon Kedrowski (19.5 ppg), Sean Johnson (15.3 ppg), Kienan Baltimore (14.3 ppg) and Fillip Bulatovic (12.5 ppg) lead the Red Men in scoring.
