Women's Basketball Falls to #21 Illinois Wesleyan in Midwest Challenge

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- No. 21 ranked Illinois Wesleyan University placed three starters in double figures to pick up a 68-34 women's basketball victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon.

Kendall Sosa paced Illinois Wesleyan with 19 points on 7-9 from the field.  Samantha Munroe added 17 points, and Brooke Lansford also reached double figures with 11 points for the Titans.

Nosa Igiehon led the Rose-Hulman offense with 10 points and seven rebounds.  Hannah Woody contributed seven points, four rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Fightin' Engineers.

Rose Burnham pitched in with six points and seven rebounds.  Jordan Barlow rounded out the Engineer offensive leaders with four points and five rebounds.

Illinois Wesleyan shot 42% from the field and held the Fightin' Engineers to 13 made shots in the game.  Rose-Hulman had the statistical edge in rebounds by a 46-41 count over the Titans.

Illinois Wesleyan improved to 5-1 overall, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 0-3.  The Fightin' Engineers will face the host WashU Bears on Sunday at 2 pm CT in the third-place game of the Midwest Challenge.
