TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Rose-Hulman volleyball opens the 2019 HCAC Volleyball Tournament with an opening round home matchup against Defiance College on Wednesday night.

ROSE-HULMAN NEWS & NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman is the defending HCAC Tournament champions and earned their second NCAA Division III Tournament appearance last season.
* Rose-Hulman has won nine of 12 matches to finish the regular season 14-15 overall and 6-3 in conference play.
* Elizabeth Canon leads the team with 288 kills. Riley Woodruff has added 216, and Katie Orbeta ranks third on the team with 176.
* Orbeta ranks No. 3 in Rose-Hulman history with 2,774 career assists and also leads the team with 52 service aces.
* Katryna Dahlberg has been named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season. She leads the HCAC in digs (671) and digs per set (6.39).
* Eryn Castaneda ranks second on the team in assists (391) and service aces (51).
* Maria Bruner has a team-high 81 blocks, and Woodruff has tallied 69 blocks.
DEFIANCE NEWS & NOTES:
* Defiance stands 17-11 overall and finished HCAC play at 5-4 in league matches.
* Defiance lost a narrow five-set match 16-14 in the fifth set at RHIT earlier this season.
* Statistical leaders include Delaney Monnin (346 kills), Brianna Wheeler (970 assists) and Morgan Porter (670 digs).
