Volleyball Heads to No. 20 Transylvania in HCAC Semifinal Match

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Rose-Hulman volleyball hits the road for the HCAC Semifinal Match at Transylvania University on Saturday at 2 pm.  The winner advances to Sunday's HCAC Tournament Championship Match.

Saturday November 9 at Transylvania - 2 PM 

ADMISSION POLICY: For HCAC Tournament play, the following admission charges will be in place.
* Adults: $8
* Senior Citizens and Non-HCAC Students: $5
* HCAC Students, Faculty, Staff: FREE

HCAC TOURNAMENT BRACKET:
SEMIFINALS - Saturday Nov. 9 (at Transylvania)
2 pm - #4 Rose-Hulman at #1 Transylvania
5 pm - #3 Earlham vs. #2 Hanover  

CHAMPIONSHIP - Sunday Nov. 10 (at Transylvania)
1 pm - Semifinal winners

ROSE-HULMAN NEWS & NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman is the defending HCAC Tournament champions and earned their second NCAA Division III Tournament appearance last season. 
* Rose-Hulman seeks its third NCAA Division III Tournament trip in program history, after qualifying for the NCAAs in 2011 and 2018.
* Rose-Hulman has won 10 of its last 13 matches to stand 15-15 overall and 6-3 in HCAC play.
* The Fightin' Engineers have been road warriors this season, playing their 30 matches in 7 states (Washington, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio). 
* Elizabeth Canon leads the team with 310 kills.  Riley Woodruff has added 225, and Katie Orbeta ranks third on the team with 188.
* Orbeta ranks No. 3 in Rose-Hulman history with 2,809 career assists and also leads the team with 54 service aces.
* Katryna Dahlberg has been named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season.  She leads the HCAC in digs (706) and digs per set (6.42).
* Eryn Castaneda ranks second on the team in assists (412) and service aces (51).
* Maria Bruner has a team-high 83 blocks, and Woodruff has tallied 75 blocks.

TRANSYLVANIA NEWS & NOTES:
* Transylvania earned the top seed and hosting rights for the HCAC Tournament with a 25-4 regular season.
* Transylvania, who won the HCAC regular season championship last season, finished a perfect 9-0 in conference play in 2019.
* The Pioneers have defeated three nationally ranked teams so far this season.
