Game Recap: Men's Track and Field |

Men's and Women's Take First at Rose-Hulman Early Bird Invite

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology came away winning 11 events as both the men's and women's teams finished first in the Rose-Hulman Early Bird Invitational Saturday, 3/16. 

The event featured 9 different schools including the Engineers.  Other teams competing at the meet included Hanover, Franklin, Thomas More, St. Norbet, Baldwin Wallace, DePauw, Defiance, and Triton College.

Rose-Hulman men's field event winners included Cameron Prisby in the Pole Vault (14'6"), Nathan Schrader in the Javelin (183'5"), and Trey Sykes in the Long Jump (21'5.5") and the Triple Jump (44'9.75")

The Fightin' Engineers running event winners included Noah Thomas in the 100-meter dash (10.99), Aaron Lannoy in the 1500-meter run (4:04.59), and Nolan Gross in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:20.39).

Winners on the women's side included Christina Rogers in the 400-meter dash (1:02.16), Kally Morozin in the 1500-meter run (4:59.97), Rachel Shubella in the 3000-meter steeplechase (12:30.07), and the 4x400 relay team of Kristin East, Clare Bruns, Lois Cheatham, and Christina Rogers (4:19.44). 

Rose-Hulman combined for 11 runner-up finishes on the evening.  Men's field event runner up finishers included Eric Fiacable in the shot put (46'4.75") the discus (142'7") and the hammer (184'3"), Noah Thomas in the 200-meter dash (22.30), and the 4x400-meter relay team of Stephen Payne, Aaron Lannoy, Isaiah Lilje, and Parker Jordan (3:32.47).

Women field event runner ups for the Engineers included Sydney Larson in the triple jump (33'3") and Dara Smith in the long jump (16'1.5").  Running event runner ups on the women's side included Clare Bruns in the 400-meter dash (1:10.74), Kally Morozin in the 800-meter run (2:29.32), and Mary-Helen Shomba in the 100 hurdles (15.13) and the 200-meter dash (27.15). 

The Engineers will compete next on Saturday, 3/23 at the Washington University Invitational.  The meet is set to start at 10:00 AM CT.
