CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology brought home four event victories against primarily NCAA Division I opposition to highlight a strong performance in an abbreviated meet due to weather at Eastern Illinois University on Friday and Saturday.

Rose-Hulman brought home two first-place finishes in men's field events; one in women's field events; and one in men's track events.

Nick Palmer claimed first place in the pole vault (15' 1"), while Jonah Yates added a first-place in the discus (136' 8") to lead field event performances.

Dara Smith came home first in the women's high jump with a leap of 5' 5", and Kevin Wuest won the men's 10,000-meter run with a time of 33:12.46.

Cameron Prisby added a second-place finish with a pole vault mark of 14' 1 1/4", while Ben Gothard came home scond in the 10,000-meters (33:46.47).

Third-place finishers included Eric Fiacable in the hammer (187' 0"), Trey Sykes in the triple jump (46' 9 1/2") and Kennedy Schnieders in the men's 10,000-meters (34:17.19).

Fourth-place Fightin' Engineer finishers included Mikey Holtz in the pole vault (13' 1 1/2"); Jacob Sparks in the discus (131' 7"); and Sean Sullivan in the 10,000-meters (34:24.67).

Rounding out the top-five finishers on the weekend were Fiacable in the shot put (47' 7 1/4") and Cassie Utley in the women's javelin (88' 2").

Matthew Stevenot added the third-best 5,000-meter run in school history.  Stevenot completed the race in a time of 14:57.23.

Rose-Hulman will compete at the DePauw Invitational next weekend.
