Men's Tennis Shuts Out Franklin for 45th Straight HCAC Win

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology tied a school record with its 10th straight win this season and earned its 45th consecutive victory against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference competition with a 9-0 victory over Franklin College at the University of Indianapolis Tennis Center on Wednesday night.

In addition, Andre Adam set a new school record for singles victories in a career.  Adam recorded his 70th career singles win, topping the previous record of 69 set by Brandon Benedict from 2014-17.

Rose-Hulman improved to 11-9 overall and 6-0 in HCAC play with the victory.  The Fightin' Engineers have now won 10 matches in a row, marking the third time in school history the feat has been accomplished.  Rose-Hulman looks to set a new school record for consecutive wins in a season on Saturday at Hanover College.

Ian Landwehr and Arudrra Krishnan led the Fightin' Engineers with wins in both singles and doubles play.  Landwehr won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and 8-0 at No. 1 doubles with Austin Perry.  Krishnan earned victories at No. 5 singles by a 7-5, 6-2 count and 8-3 at No. 3 doubles with Mark Slaninka.

The No. 2 doubles team of Joseph Conrad and Ben Strate won 8-0 to complete a sweep of the doubles matches.  Singles winners in straight sets also included Andre Adam at No. 2; Josh Giambattista at No. 3; Jacob Pluta at No. 4; and Grant Stamper at No. 6.

Rose-Hulman travels to Hanover on Saturday at 2 p.m., while Franklin stands 7-9 overall and 4-3 in league play.
