TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology was able to pick up a win over Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday night with a final score of 8-1. This improves the Engineers to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the HCAC.
The Engineers were able to put together an great performance to sweep doubles competition. The No. 1 doubles team of Naomi Bhagat and Breanna Rogers were able to pick up a win 8-1. The No. 2 doubles team of Fanny-Jane Banda and Anna Thompson were also able to top the Lions 8-0. Rose-Hulman's No. 3 doubles team of Emma Goodman and Julia McGuire were also able to find success with a 8-3 win. This put the Engineers up 3-0 heading into singles competition.
Rose-Hulman was able to put together an outstanding performance in singles competition as well. Bhagat was able to pick up a victory in No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0. Thompson was able to win at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-2. Banda was able to come away with a win in No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0. Rogers represented the Engineers well with a win in No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0. Kyla Jarvis was able to add a win to the Engineers total at No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-0. The Lions were able to pick up a win in No. 6 singles to make the final score 8-1.
The team now stands at 4-1 overall this season and 2-0 in the HCAC. The Engineers will return to competition on Wednesday, 9/25 hosting Anderson at 6:00 PM.
