TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis came up just short in a competitive match against Transylvania University with a final score of 5-4.
Anna Thompson and Fanny-Jane Banda were able to secure a win in No. 2 doubles for Rose-Hulman with a score of 8-4. Transylvania was able to defeat the Engineers in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take the lead 2-1 heading into singles competition.
Banda was able to pick up a win for the Engineers in No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0. Breanna Rogers was also able to record a win for the Engineers in No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-1. Kyla Jarvis received an impressive victory in No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-1.
This loss drops Rose-Hulman to 4-2 overall this season and 2-1 in HCAC play. The team will continue their HCAC schedule hosting Earlham College on Wednesday, 10/2 at 6:00 PM.
